After graduating from UC Berkeley, and as a PhD student at Stanford, Pastor Ken was searching for meaning and purpose in life and began to earnestly seek God. Soon thereafter, he became a Christian in 1990 at Berkland Baptist Church (from which KCBC was started). Since then, he has sought to grow in his personal relationship with Christ and share His love with others. Pastor Ken has a keen interest in apologetics, and loves to discuss the rationality of faith in God and His amazing love!

After marrying Esther in 1995, they have been serving together and they are currently the campus directors for Cal State Long Beach. He currently attends Gateway Seminary where he is pursuing a Master of Theological studies. Also, as a business professor at Pepperdine where he teaches courses in mathematical modeling, Pastor Ken especially has a heart for students. He loves playing sports, especially basketball, softball, and bowling -- yes, bowling is a sport! Pastor Ken and Esther have two children, David and Lydia.
